TSU pays tribute to Amb. Danding Cojuangco on his birth anniversary
Tarlac State University joins the Tarlac Province in commemorating the 86th birth anniversary of Ambassador Eduardo “Danding” Cojuangco today (June 10).
Amb. Cojuangco, fondly called “Boss Danding,” prioritized education in the province and established the Eduardo Cojuangco Foundation (ECF) during his stint as chairperson.
He also launched Project Flagships to Reach Educational Excellence or Project FREE with his efforts to support and provide scholarships to public school teachers with their master's and doctoral degrees under a program designed by the University of St. La Salle Bacolod.
In 2011, he received an honorary doctorate (honoris causa) from Tarlac State University for his Project FREE.
He also established Project HOPE that provides scholarship grants to out-of-school youth and free trainings (technical, vocational, and entrepreneurial skills) and job opportunities to unemployed youth.
Amb. Cojuangco served as the governor of Tarlac from 1967 to 1969 and became Tarlac’s 1st District Representative from 1969 to 1972.
