DLSU law students donate Pocket WiFi to TSU
De La Salle University law students who launched “Project WiFi” handed 100 units of pocket WiFi and 600 pieces of load cards to Tarlac State University on Friday, November 20.
According to Rafa Reyes, 25, co-founder of Project WiFi who partnered with Smart Communications, they are targeting to give 2,100 devices to students all over the country where each student can get as much as six load cards for their online learning.
Reyes said they are targeting students from grade school to college who lack financial means.
Project WiFi was formed by seven working law students namely David Magbanua, Lawrence Paras, Jasper Yang, K Santos, Peachy Garcia, Denise Heredia, and Reyes who also experienced hardships while studying online.
They were accompanied by their adviser Atty. Nico Martin and TSU School of Law (SOL) Dean Atty. Jose I. Dela Rama, Jr.
One of the recipients is Aljohn Salcedo, 25, fifth year civil engineering student, who also received a laptop from TSU President Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari on the same day. Salcedo is the student assistant of the TSU Faculty and Personnel Union
Students from the SOL will also be given pocket WiFi and load cards as aid to their online classes. [Maria Adelaida D. Calayag]
