TSU educators honored via virtual celebration  

Themed “Leading in Crisis, Reimagining the Future,” Tarlac State University celebrated World Teachers’ Day on Friday, October 2, to commend its teaching workforce for their hard work and dedication in delivering learning amidst pandemic.  

The Zoom event was hosted by two Communication students, Maze Ian Dave Tuppil and Nicole Lulu, and was livestreamed via the Office of Public Affairs Facebook page.  

With the abrupt changes in education brought by the pandemic, TSUian educators still managed to deliver online classes for the students — from preparing modules to studying new online platforms to better serve their students, and even reaching out to those who are struggling with poor internet connection and lack of devices. 

“No amount of pandemic will ever stop a teacher to inspire students and see the bright future that awaits them. It is not easy to become a teacher, but I believe that it is not also difficult to be one as long as we teach with our hearts and not from the book. As long as we look at our students as blessings of opportunity to serve, being a teacher is not difficult,” TSU President Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari said in her inspirational message. 

During the presentation, Prof. Socrates Embesan from the College of Teacher Education sang “I Dreamed a Dream” from the musical play Les Miserables. 

Meanwhile, the TSU Chorale, all clad in white with their face shields on, performed "True Colors" in a formation which observes social distancing. 

Student organizations, interim student council officers, and some alumni expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards their professors and instructors in several video presentations. [Maria Adelaida D. Calayag]
