TSU syncs budgeting and planning processes  

The university commenced the workshop on integrated planning and budgeting for fiscal years 2021 and 2022 on Tuesday, September 29, spearheaded by the newly merged Office of Planning, Performance Monitoring, and Evaluation (OPPME). 

Starting this year, the planning and budgeting processes are harmonized through TSU Memorandum Circular No. 12, dated September 3, 2020, stating that such processes are “very important aspects and elements of an effective and efficient management of an organization.” 

The “proposed harmonized planning and budgeting process” calendar lists August to September of every year as the start of the university targeting which will conclude with the annual university planning with the TSU administration and Board of Regents in December. 

The university’s Executive Committee held the preliminary discussions for the 2021 action plan and 2022 strategic plan also on September 29 which will be followed by the workshop of the offices under each vice president until October 2. 

“We [Executive Committee] cannot dictate their [offices and colleges] targets, but we can [set] their direction. And right now, we already know where we are going,” university president Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari said during the discussion. 

Other essential plans are also incorporated in the harmonized process such as the Land-Use Development and Infrastructure Plan (LUDIP), Project Procurement Management Plan (PPMP), and risk assessment for risk register development.
