TSU pools support for COVID-19 actions  

Tarlac State University strengthened its efforts in battling the COVID-19 for the duration of the Luzon-wide Enhanced Community Quarantine.

These actions are the university’s way to help the provincial and city government in dealing with the pandemic.

Eleven strong volunteers from Tarlac State University-College of Science heeded the urgent need for additional healthcare front liners of the Tarlac Provincial Government.

Tarlac Governor Susan Yap sought for the help of the university through a letter sent on March 18 (Wednesday) where University President Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari immediately responded.

The university Disaster and Risk Reduction Committee, which includes President Mallari, along with other volunteers and some hotel staff prepared the TSU Hotel today, March 20, which will be used as quarantine site.

Remaining Sarap Tumulong fund and donations from the TSU community will be used for COVID-19 immediate expenses, particularly for hotel operations.

Also today, a ten-membered face mask taskforce volunteered to create 1,000 face masks in a span of three to five days. 

Face mask taskforce started working today at 1:00 PM in the Dress Making Room located at the College of Teacher Education (CTE) Building.

After distributing the face masks to TSU personnel, the said taskforce will also give masks to the front liners in Tarlac for their sacrifices against COVID-19, said Dr. Jasper Jay Mendoza, CTE Dean. 

President Mallari expressed her gratitude and appreciation to TSU community members who are volunteering for the university’s actions against COVID-10.

“Give my love and deepest appreciation to everyone who brave the risk of going out to help and thanks so much to everyone who (are praying) for us to be safe, strong, and trusting to the Lord!,” President Mallari said.

This just shows how the university cooperates in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
