Tamina Retires After 35 Years of Dedicated Service  

In recognition of her 35 years of dedicated service to the Tarlac State University, Prof. Remedios A. Tamina of the College of Business and Accountancy was given a send-off party during her retirement day last October 2 at the university audio-visual room.

TSU President Myrna Q. Mallari thanked “Ate Rem,” as she is fondly called by friends and colleagues, for her “long and dedicated service” to TSU.

Tamina, who turned 65 years old that day, started working at TSU (then Tarlac College of Technology) as a non-teaching personnel (administrative staff) in August 1983.

In 1996, when Dr. Dolores G. Matias was TSU president, Tamina joined the CBA as a faculty of the Financial Management Department.

On October 19, she received a Certificate of Recognition and a gold necklace from TSU for 35 years of exemplary service.

The president, in a short message during Tamina’s retirement party, said she admired the celebrator’s work ethic.

She said: “Hindi sya mareklamo. Kapag nagreklamo siya, ibig sabihin masamang-masama na yung loob nya, hindi na nya kayang dalhin kaya sasabihin na nya, pero hanggat kaya nya wala kang maririnig sa kanya (She doesn’t complain. If ever she complains it is because she could not take it anymore. She doesn’t whine.)

Tamina earned the degree Bachelor of Science in Commerce in 1975 and Master of Public Administration in 2017.

She coached the CBA softball team for 20 years (from 1996 to 2016) and was instrumental in helping the team win during university intramural games.

She has five children. Her first-born, Judith, who is currently working at the Admissions and Registration Office, was the last person called to give a message.

She thanked the Lord and asked Him to give her mother a long life. She also expressed appreciation to the university president and members of the TSU community who attended her mother’s retirement party. [OPAI]
