After five months as an “understudy officer” of the University Planning Office, Dr. Grace Anne C. Hasegawa is now its full-fledged director, in which capacity she plans to “strengthen the monitoring and evaluation of university plans.”

In an administrative order dated December 19, 2018, Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari, TSU President, designated Hasegawa, who had been an “understudy officer” since July 6, 2018, as Planning Director.

Hasegawa said her goal as Planning Director is to “strengthen the monitoring and evaluation of the achievement of plans.”

Toward this end, she said, she has helped introduced instruments that make it easy to monitor if plans have been achieved or not.

She said her experience with an accreditor who asked her how she would know if a plan had been achieved or not was an eye-opener.

“The accreditor was right in asking that question and that it exactly what we should be doing as a planning unit,” she added.

She earned the following academic degrees: B.S. Psychology from the University of Santo Tomas (UST); Master of Public Administration (Tarlac State University); and Ph.D. in Education Major in Educational Management (Angeles University Foundation).

She started teaching at the TSU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) in 2002, and has held numerous administrative positions since then: head of Guidance, Discipline and Testing (2002-2006); head of Guidance and Placement (2006-2011); manager of the Public Employment Service Office (2011-2015); and Career and Job-Placement officer (2016-2018).

She is a national accreditor affiliated with the Accrediting Agencies of Chartered Colleges and Universities of the Philippines (AACUP). [OPAI]
