TSU student video documentary wins CMMA

A 20-minute video documentary produced by three AB Communication students of the Tarlac State University’s College of Arts and Social Sciences was adjudged Best Student TV Production during the presentation of the 40th Catholic Mass Media Awards held at the Star Theater, Star City, CCP Complex in Pasay City.

Titled “Kanlungan,” the documentary about a museum where homeless kida are taught to play indigenous musical instruments was a school project of students Danica Diane Isip, Amira Arcalas and King Vincent Guevarra.

It was submitted as a final requirement for the degree Bachelor of Arts in Communication.

Prof. Augusto N. Lulu served as the project’s faculty adviser.

“Kanlungan” competed with 35 other entries from around the Philippines.

Aside from “Kanlungan” two other entries by TSU – titled “Katha” and “Yaman ng Kalikasan” --were included in the top 8 finalists of the Best Student TV Production category.

“Katha” was a project of students Allan Joshua Yalung, Ellyssa Diana Loren Kassandra Taduran and Mara Jovelline Dioso.

“Yaman ng Kalikasan” was a documentary by Carolina Hipolito, Arcel Bustamante and Diane Lambino. [OPAI]
