Training on Turnitin use held  

Close to 40 faculty members from the Tarlac State University’s 10 colleges participated in a training workshop on the use of the Turnitin software, “a commercial, Internet-based plagiarism detection service.”

Prof. Marlon Gamido, Dean of the College of Computer Studies (CCS), said in his welcome remarks that Turnitin’s “similarity checks … can increase the integrity of our researches,” adding that it is “now a trend.”
“I hope this activity will help you gain insights on how you can improve the integrity of your researches,” he said.
Mr. Nelvin Abanto, of Libtech, served as a resource speaker in the morning and afternoon batches of the training. Twenty faculty members attended the morning batch and 19 joined the afternoon batch.
The TSU Research Office, headed by Dr. Leo Piao, and the Human Resource Development Office, headed by Mr. Marlon dela Cruz, jointly organized the event.
