Secretary Harry Roque leads oath-taking of SK Officials  

                Presidential Spokesman and Cabinet Secretary Harry Roque visited the university anew as he presided over the oath-taking of the newly-elected Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Officials last May 25, at the TSU Gymnasium.  On hand to meet the Secretary were TSU officials led by Dr. Myrna Q, Mallari, University President.

                 The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) is in partnership with Tarlac State University (TSU) in providing the SK Mandatory Training (SKMT) 2018 for the province of Tarlac. The Secretary was warmly welcomed by the newly elected SK officials. He delivered a brief message of inspiration to the officials, who will be leading the youth sector in empowering youth involvement in community development starting this June 30.

                In his speech, Secretary Roque emphasized how the elected officials should lead by example, and firmly reminded them of Dr. Jose Rizal’s famous statement “Ang Kabataan ang Pag-asa ng Bayan.” Furthermore, he explained the significance of the SK’s role in nation-building, and thus, the officials should uphold their sworn oath.

                Thereafter, the Presidential Spokesperson thanked the University for accommodating the SKMT, and correspondingly commended the collaboration of the institution and DILG-Tarlac for a job well done.
