Dean Bildan Named 65th ASEAN Architect

College of Architecture and Fine Arts (CAFA) Dean Architect Marco F. Bildan was named the 65th ASEAN Architect (AA)at the prestigious ASEAN Architects Meet last March 9, 2018 at Raffles Fairmont Hotel in Makati City.

Dean Bildan is one of 37 other Filipino architects who were conferred, making the Philippines the third highest ranking Asian country to have the most number of recognized AAs in the ASEAN region with Indonesia at the top followed by Singapore.

The dean submitted his profile to the PRC International Affairs in October 2016 and was interviewed by a panel of ten experts on April 26, 2017. He successfully passed the rigid interview and thereafter conferred the title ASEAN Architect (Registration No. 0065) specializing in Architectural Design, Building Utilities and the Academe.

Dean Bildan is not only an architect but also a Real Estate Broker & a former board examiner in the Master Plumbing Board Exams in 2007 - 2009. At present, he is one of the three Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Council members in Master Plumbing.

He also serves as a private professional practitioner, designing several commercial, industrial, sectoral, and residential structures through Bildanation Architectural and Engineering Solutions. His continuous development as an architect has been evident in his active involvement and leadership at the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP), particularly in the UAP Tarlac Chapter; the Council of Deans and Heads of Architectural School in the Philippines and other professional organizations.

Bildan is also a member of the university technical working group responsible for the design and inspection of major campus infrastructure projects including the 4-storey University Hotel, 3-storey University Library, the 5-storey Multi-purpose Building, the University Interfaith Chapel, the 5-storey Academic Building (Phase I) and the Development Plan of San Isidro Campus which is envisioned to be the ‘Technological Campus’ of the University.

Bildan wrote about the “design of Butterfly Gutter,” “Campus Beat: The Technology Campus of the Tarlac State University,” and “Six Common Construction Project Failures in the Philippines and How to Manage Them.”
