TSU welcomes 2nd Institutional Accreditation Visit

Stakeholders of Tarlac State University welcomed accreditors from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc. through a vibrant opening program of the Institutional Accreditation held on December 4, 2017 at the TSU Gymnasium.

The Vice President of the Academic Affairs, Dr. Armee N. Rosel, delivered the opening remarks followed by a grand introduction of TSU key officials where all the VPs presented each Director under their respective offices. On the other hand, Dr. Anthony M Penaso- Caraga State University President shared the preview of the weeklong accreditation visit. Dr. Raul F. Muyong introduced each of his co-accreditors comprising the Accreditation team.

Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari- TSU President in her welcome address presented the milestones of the University during her administration. The president highlighted the recent Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers, where a BS Elementary Education graduate of TSU, Jalara Narcisso, grabbed 4th place.

To lighten up the program, Prof. Gherold C. Benitez- TSUFPU President performed an intermission number and sang “You Raise Me Up”. Before the program ended, the Director of Quality Assurance, Dr. Elizabeth A. Amurao announced the clusters for each area to undergo accreditation along with the schedule of activities for the 3-day accreditation visit.

“Persistence towards Quality Higher Services and Education”- Cluster III and VI Accreditation

 The AACCUP Accreditation Team of Dr. Divina Gracia M. De Guzman and Dr. Thelma T. Lanuza were warmly welcomed at the TSU Hotel by faculty and personnel who gathered for the Cluster III and IV evaluation on December 4, 2017. The team is part of the AACCUP Accreditation team visiting the University for the second time for Institutional Accreditation.

  The opening program started with a prayer followed by the welcome remarks of Dr. Marie Paz Angeles. Up for evaluation were the Human Resources Management and Development Unit, Cluster III led by Ms. Geraldine Ann Lenon, and the Office of Student Affairs,  Cluster VI led by Prof. Gladie Natherine Cabanizas.

 Ms. Lenon started the PowerPoint presentation of HRMDU’s achievements which included trainings, seminars, and other similar activities geared at improving and enhancing the unit’s hiring and system procedures. Prof. Cabanizas presided over the OSA’s presentation, highlighted by the programs to improve and maintain the highest level of service and support for the students and activities like “Jumpstart, “Leadership Planning Summit”, and many others in addition to the scholarship program for deserving students were also presented. The College of Education Dean and Director of Center for Development- Dr. Julieta Lagasca headed the Teaching and Instruction Area for Accreditation, expressed her thanks to the accreditation team for inspiring the institution to raise its level of performance especially towards its students and clientele.

 Institutional Accreditation Visit: Cluster IV

 The AACCUP team of Dr. Nenita I. Prado of Central Mindanao University, and Dr. Marlene B. Atinyao of Benguet State University, led the institutional accreditation for Cluster IV that involved the offices of University Research, Extension Services, and Institutional Linkages and External Affairs on December 4, 2017 at the RED Building Training Room, TSU Lucinda Campus.

Dr. Leo Piao represented the University Reasearch Office and discussed a PowerPoint presentation of their achievements since 2015, while the Office of Extension Services was led by Dr. Lea Milan who shared to the group their successful projects, activities, and best practices. The TSU key officials who were in full support for Cluster IV are Dir. Redemptor Toledano, Dr. Glenard Madriaga, Dr. Louella Ona, and Dr. Nicanor Caingat, and they addressed the questions of the accreditors accordingly.
