TSU RERC gets level 1 PHREB Accreditation

The Tarlac State University Research Ethics Review Committee was awarded a Level 1 Accreditation by the Philippine Health Research Ethics Board (PHREB) during the celebration of Philippine National Health Research System (PNHRS) Week last August 24-25, 2017 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC). Dr. Glenard T. Madriaga, TSU Vice President for Research and Extension Services received the certificate of accreditation covering the period of June 9, 2017 to June 8, 2018. Other members of the TSU RERC were present during the event.
The TSU RERC, aside from its ministerial duty to submit reports annually, is tasked to evaluate submitted researches in the University to see if these researches conform to universally acceptable ethical standards. It shall monitor the conduct of studies and post approval procedures until the end of the study.
With the recognition, the TSU RERC can now send at least two members as accreditor-trainees to represent the former in any PHREB accreditation visit.
The TSU RERC is composed of the following TSU officials; Dr. Lucila Sunga, Chairperson; Dr. Alma Corpuz, Secretary; Dr. Marie Paz Angeles, Dr. Nino Corpuz, and Dr. Lea Milan as members. The alternate members are Director Emir Lenard Sicangco, Dr. Editha Villavicencio, Ms. Xyris Gerard Fernandez, Mr. John Nelson Punla, and Engr. Consolacion Lagman.
