“September 15, 2017 is a momentous day for every one of us here in TSU! Mark your calendars.” – Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari, TSU President

Together with the TSU Top Management, Hon. Senator Benigno Paolo “Bam” A. Aquino spearheaded the groundbreaking ceremony of the Five-storey Library Building to be put up at the San Isidro Campus, Tarlac City.

As the crowd awaited the arrival of Sen. Aquino, Dr. Mallari provided insights about the importance of a library in universities. The president also shared the plans of launching wider and better internet connectivity to amplify the services the library has to offer.

The senator, who is the principal sponsor and co-author of “The Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act,” on the other hand, proudly articulated that it was first in the history of the Philippines to have free access to tertiary education. He even shared different stories of students’ struggles to be able to get into college, and that became the inspiration in pushing the law.

The Supreme Student Council (SSC) President Reynamy Doria and the College of Computer Studies (CCS) Dean Engr. Marlon delivered their words of thanks to the senator in connection with  the university’s momentous event.

The library is strategically located in the said campus to cater the increasing number of students of the College of Architecture and Fine Arts (CAFA), CCS and the newly established College of Engineering and Technology (CET).
