PHREB conducts Basic Research Ethics Training
University Research Office (URO), spearheaded by Prof. Lucille O. Sunga (head of the ad hoc committee in RERC) together with Dr. Alma Corpuz, hosted a 3-day Basic Research Ethics Training conducted by Philippine Research Ethics Board (PHREB)last August 23-25, 2016 at the Activity room, RED Bldg. Lucinda campus.
Dr. Ricardo M. Manalastas, Jr., MD and Dr. Evangeline Santos, were the expert speakers who attended the seminar workshop. They were assisted by Mr. Andronico Lear B. De Guzman.
The training serves as introduction and foundational instrument in establishing the proposed Research Ethics Review Committee. Attendees were the faculties in the university, distinguished in the field of research along with some of the ad hoc committee members of RERC and staff of the URO. The said seminar enhances the chances for the Level 1 Accreditation of the RERC.
The 3-day seminar workshop tackled different topics. It covered holistic discussions of how a good researcher should be, the nature of ethics and procedures in researches, and the procedures in the establishment of institutional committee.
