Guidance and Counseling Office orients freshmen for AY 2016-2017
To welcome and provide useful information to the freshmen students as part of its program, the Guidance and Counseling Office conducted a Freshmen Orientation and seminar to the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) and the College of Engineering (COE) with the title “Start Smart: Get Ready. Get Connected. Be Excellent.” on September 16, 2016 at the TSU Gymnasium.
Among the offices that presented were: Guidance and Counseling Office, Career and Job Placement Services, Office of Culture and Arts, Civil Security Office, Dental Services, Library Services, Medical Services, Scholarship Office, Student Development Unit and the Sports Development and Management Unit.
The Guidance and Counseling Office Staff Ms. Gyan Jizzelle Talaga also presented the annual Culture Fair Intelligence Test (CFIT) and Survey of Study Habits and Attitudes (SSHA) results of the students. The CFIT and SSHA is an annual psychological exam that is being conducted by the Office, previously done by the Testing Center.
Mr. Franklin Manalo discussed about Study Habits, while Ms. Angelyn Mei Gabatin shared Learning styles to freshmen. Both speakers are from the Guidance and Counseling Office.
As per the request of their respective College Student Councils (CSC), the Colleges that attended an orientation were: College of Business and Accountancy (August 26); College of Education (August 30); College of Computer Studies and College of Architecture and Fine Arts (September 7).
The College of Education had its Study Habits Seminar last August 30. (Ruth Hazel A. Galang - OPAI)
