COL opens Justice Dela Rama Moot Court, welcomes new dean

            In a consolidated event, Tarlac State University College of Law witnessed the dedication of the Justice Jose C. Dela Rama Moot Court and the Turnover ceremony for the College’s new dean, Atty. Jose I. Dela Rama, Jr. on September 26, 2016 at the TSU Gymnasium.

            Members of the Dela Rama family, TSU Officials, and the faculty and students of the COL attended the dedication of the Justice Jose C. Dela Rama Moot Court, which is named after the former Court of Appeals Justice Jose C. Dela Rama, who is also the father of Dean Dela Rama.

            Ms. Ruth Dela Rama – Dizon, daughter of the late Justice Dela Rama, gave the dedication message, while her husband Pastor Erik Dizon offered the dedication prayer.

            The main guests of the Turnover ceremony were Hon. Emerson B. Aquende, Chairman of the Legal Education Board and Governor of IBP Bicolandia, and Atty. Rosario T. Setias-Reyes, National President of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.

            Former Dean Atty. Leslie T. Orencia also gave her Valedictory Address before the Turnover and oathtaking ceremony for Atty. Jose Dela Rama Jr.

            In his inaugural speech, Atty. Dela Rama laid down some of the future plans for the College such as the renovation of the College Library, the upgrading of faculty by requiring them to undertake a masteral course and to implement a retention policy through a revalida or mock bar per year level.

            Also included in the program was the orientation of freshmen and election of College Student Council officers. (Ruth Hazel A. Galang - OPAI)
