Capacity Building in Science and Technology in the University

               Addressing the University’s thrust in research, the University Research Office (TSU-URO) still held its Capability Building Seminar on Science and Technology Researches last August 17, 2016 despite the inclement weather. The Affair which was attended by the different faculty researchers as well as the President and Vice Presidents of the university.

                The 3-hour talk was given by Dr. Julius Caesar Sicat (Regional Director DOST RO3) addressing basic and technical concerns and issues of science-based researchers- from proposal conceptualization to termination and community extension. He also focused on encouraging the audience to do more regional and local-directed researches, promoting solutions to the everyday concerns of stakeholders, thus, taking part in reaching the national and regional’s developmental goals.

                “Ang oras ay hindi hinihingi o nauubos, yan ay ginagawa”- J.C. Sicat, emphasized the proper attitude in the management of time as a crucial resource of a researcher. The quote by the speaker concentrates on lessening the hindrances set in our community. He also highlighted to have directed mindset and efficient use of resources may lessen or even remove limitations for the researchers.

                This capability building seminar is one of several programs of URO in encouraging and empowering researchers particularly in the field of science and technology.
