TSU Holds Baccalaureate Services
Prior to this year’s graduation rites, Tarlac State University carried out its 27th Baccalaureate Services for the candidates for graduation of the school year 2015-2016, at the TSU Gymnasium on June 3, 2016.
The Board of Regents Administration, Faculty and Staff and this year’s graduating classes attended the said event.
The program consisted of two parts, namely the Thanksgiving Mass and Baccalaureate Services proper. The event started at 8 o’clock in the morning.
Most Rev. Florentino F. Cinense, Bishop Emeritus of Tarlac, and Rev. Fr. Ricardo G. Capinpin presided over the holy mass.
During the program, Atty. Aileen C. Rigor, Officer-in-charge and Tarlac City Accountant, gave her baccalaureate address. Atty. Rigor is also an alumnus of TSU.
TSU President Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari gave her closing remarks and expressed her appreciation to the guest speaker, Atty. Rigor.
The meeting was concluded with the singing the gratitude song entitled “Thanks to You” by the graduates, led by Dr. Agnes M. Macaraeg, Dean of the College of Arts and Social Sciences.
For the first time in the University’s history, the incoming graduates were given a special treat, wherein each college prepared sit-down feasts for their respective candidates.
The baccalaureate service is a tradition that always comes before the exodus of each student from the University. (Ruth Hazel A. Galang – OPAI)
