TSU signs MOA with TPPO

A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was recently signed between the Tarlac Provincial Police Office (TPPO) and the Tarlac State University (TSU) regarding the On-the-Job trainings of the university’s Bachelor of Science in Criminology students.

Signatories of the MOA were TSU President Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari, and TPPO Provincial Director PSupt. Alex B. Sintin.

In the said agreement TSU commits to, among other things, allocate funds for its on-site supervisor for inspection purposes, provide training materials such as kits, handouts and other instructional materials to interns and provide a practicum instructor to be in charge of its criminology interns prior to and during the actual OJT.

As for the part of the TPPO, technical assistance and instruction to the interns with focus but not limited to conducting patrol, investigation and traffic and accomplishment of the Performance Evaluation Sheets (PES). It has also been agreed upon that the TPPO shall not give students interns assignments that may endanger their health and safety, e.g. activities in apprehending criminals, search in seizure, entrapment operations or any activity that require them to leave the usual assignment.

The MOA signing was held at the President’s Office and witnessed by Dr. Lolita Sicat, VP for Academic Affairs, Dr. Agnes Macaraeg, Dean College of Arts and Social Sciences, Mr. Roel Alviar, Chairperson Criminology Department, PCInsp. Arthur Antonio, Chief, Provincial Police Community Relations and PSupt. Bayani Razalan, Chief of Police, Tarlac City.
