TSU welcomes Institutional Accreditors

In its bid to become a premier university in the Asia-Pacific region, Tarlac State University has recently opened its doors to the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc. for its first Institutional Accreditation.

The AACCUP’s purpose of visit is "to develop a mechanism of, and conduct the evaluation of programs and institutions." It is one of four accrediting agencies in the country.

Thirteen accreditors, two of whom were university presidents themselves comprise the team to evaluate and asses the university. The team is led by Dr. Luis Sorolla Jr. from WSSU, Dr. Raul Muyong from ISAT-U, Prof. Ricky Abalena III from WVSU, Dr. Marcela Caluscusin from DMMMSU, Dir. Aurora Casuga from DMMMSU, Mr. Samuel Chinaman from AACCUP, Prof. Nestor Competente from RTU, Dr. Divinagracia De Guzman from AACCUP, Dr. Riceli Mendoza from USM,  Dr. Noralyn Natura from NVSU, Dr. Manuel Palomar from VSU, DR. Nerita Prado from CMU and Dr. Elucila Sespene from PalSU.

The accreditors were welcomed at the Dr. Mario Manese gymnasium by students, faculty, personnel and university key officials.

TSU President Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari, who is also a member of the AACCUP welcomed the guests and started her presentation by “giving a glimpse of the university as a premier institution.”

Pres. Mallari also highlighted the “roadmaps” of the university divided into four divisions namely, first,  Infrastructure Facilities and Equipment Development; second, Faculty, Personnel and Executives Development; third, Quality Management System and, fourth, the Information Systems Strategic Plan.

Nine areas in the university’s portfolio will be evaluated - Area 1: Governance and Management, Area 2: Teaching, Learning and Evaluation, Area 3: Faculty and Staff, Area 4: Research, Area 5: Extension,   Consultancy Services and Linkages, Area 6: Support to Students, Area 7: Library, Area 8: Infrastructure and Learning Resources, Area 9: Quality Assurance and Culture.
