TSU celebrates 109th Foundation Week Celebration
To help promote the festivities of the week-long celebration, various activities were set in the three campuses of the university.
To start the celebration, a thanksgiving mass was led by none other than His Eminence Bishop Florentino Cinense, DD ., at the Dr. Mario Manese gymnasium attended by hundreds of students, faculty and university officials. After the mass a short program followed with intermission numbers from university key officials and faculty members.
A street dance in the afternoon of the first day of celebration, participated in by three entries, San Isidro campus, Lucinda campus and the Main campus. The street dance was immediately followed by a dance showdown and the “Search for King and Queen Festival.”
Day two of the celebration started with a Zumba exercise at the main building. The San Isidro campus which houses the College of Fine Arts and Architecture, College of Technology and the some levels of the College of Computer Studies opened their various booths, band jams and invited everyone to their version of a boodle fight. An art exhibit was also held at the 3rd floor by the Fine Arts students.
In the afternoon of the 2nd Day, the book, “TARLAC CITY – The Melting Pot” by Prof. Rodrigo Sicat was launched with students, university officials and local government leaders attending the said event.
The university also held a tribute to its employees with the Service Awards, honoring the loyal employees who have spent 10 years , 15 years, 20 years, 25 years, 30 years, 35 years and its retirees through a short program.
The “Fiesta sa Lucinda” started day three of the foundation celebration with a carnival theme. Booths were opened in the sprawling 10-hectare campus. A singing contest with natives games were also organized for both the students and employees of the university.
The fourth day saw the Dance Sports competition in full swing with various colleges entering the event. The day was capped off with a Battle of the Bands held at the gymnasium.
The Laboratory School graduates held a Homecoming in the last day of the celebration.
