The Guidance and Counseling Center (GCC) recently spearheaded the general orientation of freshmen at the  Mario Manese Gymnasium of the Tarlac State University.

Dedicated to student’s success, GCC is designed to enhance the students’ educational experience at the university. Every year, the office invites all incoming first years to attend a freshm

en orientation which can bolster their familiarity and knowledge about the university and the life ahead of them.

The said orientation program facilitates the transition and integration of students into the college learning environment and this requires presenting as full a view as possible of all the university has to offer.

To acquaint our freshmen with the academic aspect of the school, basic talks were given about availing of Scholarships, Library Services, Dental and Medical Services, Registration and Admission and the Guidance and Counseling Services. Also, Culture and the Arts, Sports Development and several Student organizations as well as Student Discipline and Civil Security were discussed.

This year’s orientation theme is dubbed, “IAmazing” (I am amazing). The activity was held last August 12-14, 2015 at the Dr. Mariano P. Manese gymnasium. Our VP for Student Affairs, Dr. Armee N.

Rosel welcomed the first years while the program was also graced with the presence of our University President, Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari who gave her inspirational message to the youngest and newest members of the TSU family.

Intermission numbers were showcased by the TSU Performing Arts and the TSU Focal Point.

The event was organized into three batches. There were 1,978 attendees for the first batch; 2,098 students during the second batch and 1,691 students on the third batch. (Ms. Dorothy Joy N. Breganio, RPm.)
