TSU signs MOU with IUKL

Tarlac State University (TSU) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Infrastructure University of Kuala Lumpur (IUKL) on academic collaboration and cooperation.

Included in the MOU between the partner universities were: Offer of Academic Courses and Curriculum, Exchange of Faculty Members and Exchange of Students. This agreed activity shall also provide joint academic courses, research and specific research projects. The universities shall also undertake joint conferences, seminars and workshops, joint cultural exchange programs, and joint consultancy services.

Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari, President of TSU and Dr. Roslan Zainal Abidin, President and Vice Chancellor of IUKL led the signing event between the two universities. TSU officials who joined the event include Dr. Lolita V. Sicat, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Ms Aurelia S. Valencia, Board Secretary; Dr. Nicanor C. Caingat, Director for Office of International Affairs and Studies; Engr.  Consolacion Lagman and Engr. Crispin Flora, senior faculty members of the College of Engineering. On the part of IUKL, the following officials witnessed the signing: Dr. Christiantine Della, Vice-President of Academic Affairs; Prof. Nor Hafizah Badaruddin, Head Academic and Industry Linkages Unit; and Engr. Valeriano A. Dasalia Jr., senior faculty among others.

IUKL and TSU recognized their similar interests and acknowledged the mutual benefits from their collaboration and cooperation which inspired them to have collaborative activities. With regard to this intention, the said universities formalized the establishment of their relationship in order to provide consistency in their administration of programs last June 12, 2015. Pres. Abidin was very optimistic that the MOU signed shall not only be a piece of paper but shall be implemented the soonest possible. Pres. Mallari assured Pres. Abidin that she shall personally look into the implementation of the provisions of the MOU.

TSU as a chartered State University is funded by the Government of the Philippines  and just like IUKL, it offers  academic programs in the area of science, nursing, business management, accounting technology, engineering, architecture, education, social sciences, and law.  IUKL is a private university wholly owned and managed by Ikram Education Sdn Bhd (Co. No. 402343-M) located in Selangor, Malaysia. It offers academic programs in the areas of Engineering and Technology, Architecture and Built Environment, Communication and Language Studies, Business Information Technology, and Applied Science and Foundation Studies.
