Sun Moon University Grants Scholarship to TSU Students  

The 2015 Sun Moon ASEAN Special Summer Program grants scholarship to eligible students of Higher Education Institutions from ASEAN Countries in the fields of Information Technology, Engineering and other related major fields.  The program will be from July 6, 2015 to August 14, 2015 for a period of 6 weeks at Sun Moon University, South Korea.

Applicants for the summer program may come from 10 designated ASEAN countries. In the Philippines, three (3) students of Tarlac State University were qualified and granted the scholarship. They include:  Mr. Angelo T. Quiambao, Ms. Anna Cazandra P. Delos Reyes and Ms. Jaimee S. Tamio who are students of the College of Computer Studies of the University. Sun Moon with the support of the Korean Government will provide the student-scholars with full scholarship benefits including round trip airfare, tuition, boarding expenses insurance and in-Korea transportation. During the summer program, the students will select and take subjects equivalent to 18 academic units to their program at Sun Moon University as the Host University. The same subjects can be credited to the students in their program at Tarlac State University as the Home University as part of the agreement.

Mr. Sang Keun Nho, Team Head of the Global Affairs of Sun Moon University together with Mr. Kim In Gyeom visited TSU on June 3, 2015 and had a meeting with the top officials of the University. They also met the three student-scholars for a briefing session on their stay in Korea while undergoing the program. Prof. Marlon V. Gamido, Dean College of Computer Studies joined his students during the briefing session.

Tarlac State University and Sun Moon University maintain a standing Memorandum of Understanding on academic collaboration and cooperation since 2011.  This was facilitated by the Office of International Affairs and Studies.

The Special Summer Program of Sun Moon University shall be formally implemented through a Memorandum of Agreement with TSU.  Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari, President of TSU and Dr. Khung Oh Lee, President of Sun Moon University shall be the signatories of the Agreement.
