Cong. Romulo guest of honor in 26th commencement exercise
“I ask all of you to rise up to the challenge. Maniwala kayo sa mga sarili ninyo.”
This was how Congressman Roman T. Romulo, guest of honor and speaker, called on the new graduates of the College of Computer Studies and College of Science during the 26th Commencement Exercise at the Dr. Mario Manese Gymnasium of the Tarlac State University (TSU).
Congressman Roman T. Romulo, representative from the lone district of Pasig also chairs the Committee on Higher and Technical Education in the lower house. The lawmaker was joined by his father, Alberto Romulo who was Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs before and during the early period of the administration of President Benigno Aquino III. They were also joined by the younger Romulo’s wife, Shalani Soledad-Romulo, who was a former Valenzuela City councilor and TV host.
Cong. Romulo also added, “Nalaman ko po na ang Tarlac State University ay isa sa mga pinaka maraming accredited programs sa buong bansa. Napaka palad po ninyo dahil ibig sabihin world class ang natatanggap ninyong edukasyon. “
In 2013 Romulo filed two measures that aimed to help students find other sources of funding - the Unifast Bill and, the Voluntary Students Loan Bill. The Unifast Bill, whose funding will come from the national government, will provide scholarships and grants-in-aid loans for the students, while in the voluntary student loan program, the government shall give tax incentives to private banks and financial institutions who will lend money to the students.
