TSU gears for Institutional Accreditation

Tarlac City – The Tarlac State University (TSU) through its Human Resource Management and Development Office recently organized a seminar on ‘Institutional Accreditation.’

Dr. Manuel Corpus, Executive Director of Accrediting Agency for Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACUP) was the invited resource speaker for the seminar.

“This is not a contest. Our aim for the university, to be certified by the AACUP, is to tell our stakeholders that we are a premiere university of the Asia-Pacific. This institution to be accredited means we are on the right track in serving our students and the community.” said TSU President Myrna Q. Mallari.

Pres. Mallari said, “Let this be a fruitful day towards an accredited institution. Working hard as we all know is an opportunity to serve.”

“The accreditation program is the responsibility of the university. It is a step towards excellence.” said Dr. Corpus. “I think TSU is prepared for Institutional Accreditation, and we must remember that accreditation is an improvement towards excellence.” Dr. Corpus added

According to Dr. Corpus there are nine criteria for institutional accreditation they are, Governance and Management, Teaching, Learning and Evaluation, Faculty and Staff, Research, Extension, Consultancy and Linkages, Student Support, Infrastructure and Learning Resources, Financial Generation and Management and Healthy Practices.

Dr. Lolita Sicat, Vice President for Academic Affairs, said in her closing remarks that the university is preparing well for the Institutional Accreditation and hope that everything will be finished this year. (OPAI)
