URO conducts ISO Awareness Seminar

The Tarlac State University Research Office in its commitment to standardized the procedures and services of the office and to institutionalize Quality Management System (QMS), conducted the “Seminar in ISO Awareness” on September 4, 2014 at the Training Room, Research, Extension and Development (RED) Center, Lucinda Campus of this university.

The activity was organized by Erika Pauline Tomas and Julie Liezel Ferrer, assisted by Julie Borja, while the entire event was headed by the URO Director, Dr. Maria Elena David.

The participants to the seminar were the Research Chairs and Research Coordinators of the different colleges of the university.

Engr. Emir Lenard Sicangco and Ms. Lea Beltran, both from the University Extension Office were the resource speakers. The topics discussed during the seminar were the following:

Topic 1. Introduction ISO 9001;

Topic 2. Eight (8) Quality Management Principles;

Topic 3.  ISO 9001: 2008 Requirements; and,

Topic 4. Transition to ISO 9001: 2008.

A follow up seminar on ISO Documentation is set to be scheduled in 2015.
