TSU Performing Arts Dance Troupe- Most Impressive in International Festival

The TSU Performing Arts Dance Troupe participated in the 8thSurin, Thailand International Folklore Festival hosted by the SurindraRajahbat University on January 17-28, 2013. 

The TSU delegation is headed by our very own President Dr. Priscilla C. Viuya, V.P. Dr. Louella F. Ona, Culture and Arts Director Prof. Marcelino P. Balanquit who is also the Artistic Director of the Group together with the 15 talented student members of the TSU Performing Arts: Liah May Palo, Jeffrey Domingo, MaicaSheineDimarucut, Mark James Diemsen, Michelle Tongol, Mark Vincent De Guzman, Jennel Villanueva, Michael Angelo Lacsina, Jeoussa Mae Santos, Ernesto Mataba Jr. Natallie Kate Pamintuan, Claude Michael Matias, Rozell Lozano, Marjessa Santana and Ericka Jane Tabamo. 

The TSU Performing Arts staged 8 famous folkdances of the Philippines: The highly appreciated Tinikling, Ragragsakan, PandanggosaIlaw, Maglalatik, Binoyugan, Pasigin, La Jota Moncadena, Paso Doble including the Official Native Dance of Tarlac-La Jota Tarlaquena. 

During the culminating activity of the Festival, The University Dance Troupe was awarded the Most Impressive Performance Trophy besting 13 other dance troupes from Ukraine, China, South Korea, India-Manipur, India- Punjab, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Italy, Israel, Indonesia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, and the host Thailand.
