TSU Performing Arts Dance Troupe- in Israel MAATAF International Folklore Festival
The TSU Performing Arts Dance Troupe participated in the 28thMAATAF International Folklore Festival held on June 25 to July 5, 2013.
The TSU delegation is headed by our very own President Dr. Priscilla C. Viuya, V.P. Dr. Rex I Igoy, Dir. Ma. June S. Carlos and Culture and Arts Director Prof. Marcelino P. Balanquit who is also the Artistic Director of the Group together with the 14 talented student members of the TSU Performing Arts: Liah May Palo, MaicaSheineDimarucut, Mark James Diemsen, Michelle Tongol, Mark Vincent De Guzman, Jennel Villanueva, Michael Angelo Lacsina, Ernesto Mataba Jr. Natallie Kate Pamintuan, Claude Michael Matias, Rozell Lozano, Marjessa Santana, Mark Anthony Baking and Ericka Jane Tabamo.
The showcased 6 famous folkdances of the Philippines: Ragragsakan, PandanggosaIlaw, Maglalatik, Binoyugan, Pasigin and our National dance-Tinikling which was the most applauded presentation during the festival.
Tarlac State University Performing Arts Dance Troupe was the first Dance troupe from the Philippines in 9 years according to Mr. Zion Shlomi, the director of the MAATAF Festival. The group performed in Ramla City, Tel Aviv, Holon City, Zemer and visited Jerusalem, Bahai Garden and Dead sea.
