TSU convenes first DC-SUC III/CIRPS meeting

The Development Council of State Universities and Colleges Region III – Center for Inter-Institutional Research and Policy Studies (DC-SUC III/CIRPS) held its first regular technical staff meeting for 2026 earlier today (January 22) at Tarlac State University's Alumni Center, Lucinda Campus.

The Development Council of State Universities and Colleges Region III-Center for Inter-Institutional Research and Policy Studies (DC-SUC III/CIRPS) held its first regular technical staff meeting for 2026 earlier today (January 22) at Tarlac State University's Alumni Center, Lucinda Campus.

CIRPS Executive Director Dr. Brendalyn A. Manzano, also the College of Arts and Social Sciences dean, presided over the meeting and welcomed the delegates from 12 SUCs across Central Luzon, with most representatives onsite and one attending via Microsoft Teams.

Some points discussed include the formulation of strategic and action plans for 2026-2027, development of the DC-SUC III/CIRPS logo, official paper, and website, capacity-building and training programs, revival of the "Skills Olympics," and the finalization of the constitution and by-laws and operations manual, among others.
 
The meeting was attended by officials representing their respective SUCs, namely Engr. Joselito Tucit (BASC), Dr. Sherrilyn Quintos (BPSU), Mr. Manolito Mata (BulSU), Dr. Emil Ubaldo (CLSU, former CIRPS executive director), Dr. Randy Banez (NEUST), Dr. Eddiebal Layco (PamSU), Dr. Glenn Calaguas (PSAU), Ms. Ronalyn Acuavera (PMMA), Mr. Kevin Valenzuela (PhilSCA), Ms. Presy Antonio (PRMSU), Mr. Orlando Locading Jr. (TAU), and Ms. Diana Rose De Mesa (ASCOT).

Former and current CIRPS management teams also joined the meeting, including Mr. Jerwin De Leon (CLSU, former secretary), Ms. June Ann Casimiro (CLSU, former treasurer), Dr. Allan Antalan (CLSU, former technical assistant), Ms. Liana Faith De Leon (TSU, current secretary), Mr. Lander Alexis Bulaon (TSU, current treasurer), and Mr. Marco Polo Flores (TSU, current technical assistant).
 
TSU assumed leadership last December 17, 2025, with TSU President Dr. Arnold E. Velasco serving as DC-SUC III chairperson and Dr. Manzano as CIRPS executive director. Both started their term on January 1, 2026. (jlm-OPA)
